Mimo zmagań z bólem chce spróbować powrócić do zawodowego tenisa w 2011 roku.Ostatnie zdanie to słowa Nicolas Tourte, kapitana ekipy Grenoble Tennis, której barwy reprezentuje Johansson. 28-letni szwedzki zawodnik, który wychował się w tym samym Södertälje, niewielkim mieście w środkowej części kraju, co Björn Borg, w tym roku zagrał tylko w Pucharze Davisa (w marcu w Sztokholmie). Dzięki temu wciąż ma ranking ATP: 869.
W środę niemal dwumetrowy Johansson przegrał 1:6, 6:7, 3:6 z młodzieżowcem Benoît Paire (ATP 151) z Villa Primros. - Miał problemy na początku meczu, a potem wyglądał jeszcze gorzej - mówi Tourte. - Ale mnie boli ramię i nadgarstek, gdy zaczynam z nim odbijać. Jeżeli natomiast chodzi o mentalność, wciąż jest niesamowity.
Johansson po ćwierćfinale zawodów ATP World Tour w Sztokholmie w 2009 roku już nie pojawił się w żadnym turnieju zawodowym. W mistrzostwach Francji klubów zagra także 20, 24 i 27 listopada.

Joachim, po zagraniu dla reprezentacji Szwecji i awansie do ćwierćfinału Pucharu Davisa, ogłosił, że ponownie kończy karierę, gdyż nie może znaleźć motywacji i przyjemności z gry. :-)
JOHANSSON RETIRES FOR GOOD
Former world number nine Joachim Johansson has announced his retirement from tennis for the second time, only a week after helping Sweden reach the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup.
The 28-year-old, currently ranked 537th, made his decision while playing at a Futures tournament in Switzerland.
Johansson told Svenska Dagbladet: "The motivation is not there, I'm quitting immediately.
"I know I can beat all the best in the world but it does not matter when I am no longer passionate about doing it. It has dawned on me here that I'm done with this life."
Johansson was at the peak of his career in 2004 and 2005, when he reached the semi-finals of the US Open, won three ATP Tour titles and climbed into the top 10.
But shoulder and elbow injuries stopped his career in its tracks and he retired for the first time in 2008 before making a comeback later that year.
He has played only sparingly since but last week beat top-100 player Teymuraz Gabashvili in the Davis Cup to help Sweden to a 3-2 victory over Russia.
With Robin Soderling the only Swede ranked in the top 200, Johansson's form hinted he could provide valuable support to his countryman, but he insists he will not reverse his decision this time.
Johansson added: "For five years I have struggled against injury and my goal has been to get in a position to be able to choose what I want to do. I am there now and I've made my decision."
