Dokładnie. 10 graczy z top-20. Widać, że status event-500 pomógł. Znając życie jedna z dzikich kart zostanie przyznana innemu gwiazdorowi. Rok temu np trafiła do Safina i Gonzaleza. Tournament organizers have granted American John Isner a wildcard into the main draw of the 2009 Legg Mason Tennis Classic presented by GEICO.
The 6-foot-9 twenty-four year old from Greensboro, North Carolina reached the 2007 Legg Mason Tennis Classic final defeating Tommy Haas, Tim Henman and Gael Monfils on route to his first ATP Tour final appearance. Isner finished the 2007 US Open Series circuit with an impressive Grand Slam debut, just three months after joining the professional circuit, taking the first set off World No. 1 Roger Federer in the third round of the US Open.
Earlier this year, Isner reached the quarterfinals of the Heineken Open in New Zealand, and also made the round of 16 in Indian Wells with wins over former World No. 1 Marat Safin and current World No. 14 Gael Monfils.

Monfils ponoć nie zagra (tak piszą we francuskiej L'Equipe). Niepewny jest start Gonzaleza. Wycofując się w tym tygodniu z LA zapowiedział powrót dopiero w Montrealu, czyli w Waszyngtonie też może go zabraknąć. Nikomu źle nie życzę, ale tak z 6-7 graczy mogłoby się jeszcze wycofać. Wtedy Kubot wskoczyłby do MD :P

Póki co rozdali (oficjalnie) tylko 1 z 4. Dali Isnerowi, ale ta się zwolniła. John wskutek wycofań kilku graczy automatycznie wszedł do MD. Czyli 4 dzikie karty wciąż są do rozdania. 1 pójdzie na pewno do Levine'a, bo wątpię, by kazali mu grać eliminacje.

Droga A-roda jest ciężka- ale jak da rade tu to pewny jestem że finał mastersta w montrealu lub cin. jest pewny :D A obsada wygląda naprawdę fajnie.
Andy ogra robbyego bo ten wg mnie mocno zawiódł w LA, Querreya tez ogra. Dr Ivo również, bo to nie trawka, że Ivo może sypać asów ile wlezie. Z tsongą też wygra ten nie grzeszy formą na betonie. Wszystkich pokona :D:D

Kubot dopiero 6, a losowanie takie sobie :P
Podobno (a raczej na pewno) w kwalach do tego turnieju przebija sie niejjaki Takao Suzuki ! Ja to już myślałam, że ziom zajął sie połowem skorupiaków na jakichś azjatyckich akwenach xDD Sory za moją ignorancję (niezamierzoną) ale zakładam, że on pogrywa w czelendżerach, na których ja sie nie wyznaje i których nie śledze. Mimo wszystko fajnie widzieć jego nazwisko w pożądnym evencie nawet jeśli jest to tylko wstępna jego faza.
Widziałam tylko jeden mecz z udziałem Japończyka, ale to mi wystarczyło aby nie stał sie kolejnym nołnejmem który raz dobrze zagrał i zniknął jak kamfora :] Także Takao - pamiętamy :D (no przynajmniej ja)
Takao przegrał pierwszego seta ale w drugim 3 do 1 ma.
A kiedy gra Kubot pierwszy mecz kwalifikacyjny?
Kubot w drugiej rundzie i decydującej rundzie eliminacji ; ) Polak pokonał wczoraj Daniela Evansa z Wielkiej Brytanii 6-2 7-6 (0). Rywalem Polaka będzie dzisiaj w drugim meczu od godziny 11.00 Amerykanin Jesse Witten.

To Janowicz jeszcze tym razem wielkiej kariery nie zrobił.

W trzecim secie wyciągną z 1-5 0-30 na 4-5 30-15 , ale to by było na tyle :/
Szkoda , ale mam nadzieję , że Jurek zostanie w USA i spróbuje swoich sił w innych turniejach ATP
Del Potro z problemami. Przegrany pierwszy set z Lu. Potwierdza się że Tajwańczyk potrafi grać z pozycji skazanego na porażkę przed meczem i po raz kolejny napsuł trochę krwi faworytowi.
Cilic niespodziewanie przegrywa z Devvarmanem. Hindus już od jakiegoś czasu pokazuje się w turniejach ATP, po przejściu kwalifikacji ale w pierwszych rundach odpadał. Teraz z teoretycznie najmocniejszym rywalem wygrał.
Porażka debla Kubot/Marach.
No to dzisiaj zaczynamy zabawę, o 2.00 polskiego czasu Roddick zagra z Beckerem, który po 3tb wycykał Ginepriego.

Nie grał od Wimbledonu,dlatego nie był rozegrany,z meczu na mecz powinno być coraz lepiej :)

Karović chyba używa serwisu głównie by doprowadzić o TB. Zdaje się, że nic innego Go nie interesuje :D
Teraz Roddick zagra z Isnerem. Ma szczęście do młotków serwisowych w tej imprezie. Przejdzie spokojnie, ale w finale żartów już nie będzie. :)

No właśnie mecz z Isnerem będzie najtrudniejszy w całym turnieju, Del Potro formą nie błyszczy, a Gonzaleza to do tej pory pykał jak chciał o każdej porze... :]
Niepokoi tylko te 7 asów, niepokoi to, że nie obronił żadnego z dwóch bp... Procent serwisu wreszcie na jakimś solidnym poziomie. Nie ma z kim Roddick przegrać tego turnieju, każdy z pozostałych 3 półfinalistów powinien być dojechany in straight sets, oczywiście przy jego optymalnej dyspozycji.
Berdych to naprawdę potrafi zaskoczyć, dać się 5 razy przełamać Isnerowi....
Wszystkie znaki na niebie i ziemii wskazują na klasyczny pojedynek 1-2, jednak JMDP od znakomitego RG jakoś nie może się odnaleźć, do tej pory w turnieju same męczarnie,
a gdyby nie walkower Soderlinga to wcale nie jestem pewny czy to Szwed nie gralby dalej.
Trudno mi uwierzyć, żeby Rod musiał dłużej męczyć się z Isnerem, raczej zanosi się na typowe 2 tie-breaki.
Aha, dziś o finał gra także para F/M, z Parrotem i Polaskiem zdaje się.
No narazie Roddick nie miał nic do powiedzenia w "tajbrejku" :/ A miał chyba na przełamanie 2 piłki w secie :)

Meczyk mi się podobał. Ale fakt faktem że w bólach. Isner gra bardzo dobrze na betonie. Ale Rod był dziś bardzo opanowany i konsekwentny. To mi w nim dziś zaimponowało. Poza tym miał płynniejszy serwis niż Isner. Może nie tyle asów ale swoje nim robił. Jak zagra jak dziś z Del Potro to chyba Amerykanin ma tytuł. Come On Andy :D

Rod raczej spokojnie wygra, Potro zdecydowanie nie gra tak jak na początku sezonu, 7 DF z Gonzem to potwierdza, jeśli Rod utrzyma dotychczasową dyspozycję to powinien zdobyć tytuł, no chyba , że Juan Martin dostanie nagłego przypływu formy.
Ja liczę na piękne widowisko i profesorską grę Roda, jak choćby w meczu z Isnerem :D jakby nie patrzeć lekkiego stresa mam :)

Del Potro ostro dzisiaj frajerzy. 3 break dla Roddicka i 3 raz po df. Zeby kazdy rywal byl taki pomocny... ;)
Jednak Del Potro, jestem mocno zaskoczny, że Rod nie wykorzystał przewagi przełamania, szczególnie, że Argentyńczyk wydaje się być daleki od optymalnej dyspozycji.
Niemniej brawa dla Niego, 6 tytuł wędruję na jego konto, natomiast Andy przegrywa drugi finał z rzędu, gdzie miał ogromną szansę na zwycięstwo.
Być może u Amerykanina pojawiła się jakaś blokada mentalna po tym nieszczęsnym Wimbledonie?

Strata seta z Lu i Hewittem to chyba nie jest jakiś dyshonor. Zwłaszcza, że to był pierwszy start po dłuższej przerwie,a i trudno oczekiwać aby wszystkich przeciętniaków golił tracąc max 4-5 gemów w całym meczu.
A Roddick znowu przegrał zacięty finał, szkoda.

Del Potro Edges Roddick To Claim Title Defence
Roddick and Juan Martin del Potro have won four of the past five Washington titles.
The eagerly anticipated final between top seed Andy Roddick and defending champion Juan Martin del Potro did not disappoint Sunday in Washington, D.C., as second seed del Potro successfully defended his Legg Mason Tennis Classic title with a thrilling 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(6) victory over the American in the final of the ATP World Tour 500 tennis tournament.
Del Potro is the first back-to-back champion in the U.S. capital since Andre Agassi won consecutive titles in 1998-’99. Last year, he captured his fourth straight ATP World Tour title at Washington (d. Troicki) amidst a 23-match winning streak that began with his maiden title in Stuttgart (d. Gasquet) and culminated in a quarter-final showing at the US Open (l. to Murray).
"I’m very happy to win another title and defend this championship," said del Potro. "[Roddick is in] much better condition this year. His game as improved a lot. I beat him, but the difference was so close."
As winner, the Argentine received 500 South African Airways 2009 ATP Ranking points, strengthening his bid to qualify for the year-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. The World No. 6 qualified for the elite eight-man event for the first time last season, when it was held in Shanghai.
The victory for del Potro also holds significance in the Olympus US Open Series Bonus Challenge standings. The Argentine will now move into joint-second position with Robby Ginepri. Sam Querrey currently holds the No. 1 spot after reaching the Indianapolis final and winning the Los Angeles title.
It is the second straight tour-level final loss that Roddick has been forced to endure. The American was contesting his first event since losing a heart-breaking Wimbledon final to Roger Federer, 16-14 in the fifth set.
As runner-up, Roddick put 300 South African Airways 2009 ATP Ranking points towards his bid for qualification at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals – to be held at the O2 Arena in London for the first time this season. The No. 5-ranked Roddick has made five previous appearances at the season finale.
Throughout the tournament, Roddick had declared he did not feel he was playing at his best, but the American looked to have found his form at the right time as he broke in the sixth game of the fourth set – courtesy of a del Potro double fault – before going on to clinch a one-set lead after 37 minutes with his fifth ace.
Del Potro hit back strongly in the second set and was rewarded as he broke to lead 5-3. However, the Argentine was not able to immediately level the match, instantly dropping his serve to allow Roddick to draw level at 5-5. Del Potro quickly regained his focus though and, after holding for a 6-5 lead, earned a set point at 30/40 on Roddick’s serve – which he was quick to convert and seal the second set.
"It was so difficult for me. I broke his serve and that made me keep trying… If you run, you die," said del Potro about playing through the heat.
Roddick looked to have regained control of the match as he took advantage of another del Potro double fault – one of six the Argentine committed in the match – to break and lead 2-1 in the final set. The American could not maintain his lead though and allowed the defending champion back into contention as he surrendered his serve to love in the sixth game.
In the eventual tie-break, del Potro was quick to take the initiative and earn a 4-1 lead with a mini-break. The 20 year old built on his lead and created three match points at 6-3, but squandered his opportunities – including one on his own serve as he fired a forehand long – to allow Roddick to draw level at 6-6. As had been the case in the second set though, del Potro refused to ponder his missed opportunities and his 19th ace brought up a fourth match point, which he converted after two hours and 30 minutes with a rifling forehand cross-court winner.
Roddick also admitted to being affected by the heat, but gave kudos to his opponent: "To be honest, it hasn’t been a typical Washington summer. And let’s call a spade a spade, I’ve played at night [all week]. Today was brutal. To play [at 2:30] was tough. Credit to him for winning. The guy has been a solid Top 5 player for over a year now."
Del Potro captured his sixth ATP World Tour title as he improved to a 38-10 mark on the season. The Tandil native also added to his title tally at the start of the season, defeating Sam Querrey to claim victory in Auckland.
In a year where he has pressed on from the breakthrough he made in 2008, the right-hander also advanced to his first Grand Slam semi-final at Roland Garros (l. to Federer in five sets) and on 6th April reached a career-high No. 5 in the South African Airways 2009 ATP Rankings – a position he relinquished to Roddick following Wimbledon.
The 26-year-old Roddick was contesting his 44th tour-level final and dropped to a 27-16 record. It is his third runner-up finish this season, having also lost out to Andy Murray in Doha in January.
The Austin, Texas resident, who reached a career milestone during the week as he recorded his 500th tour-level win in a third-round victory over Sam Querrey, was bidding for a fourth Washington crown. He captured the title previously in 2001 (d. Schalken), 2005 (d. Blake) and 2007 (d. Isner) and holds a 29-5 lifetime tournament mark.
"I’m not far off from where I was after Wimbledon," said Roddick, who had been sidelined with a hip injury since the grass-court Slam. "This is the start of preparation leading up to the US Open. I feel better about my game now than when I got here. The serve will come around with matches. It’s tough to get the shoulder [up to speed]."

i was supposed to go to Cincinati this week and New heaven next week but i ve cancelled everything! i m trying to get ready for USopen which starts on 31st of august!
it s pretty boring not doing any sport for a month now but lucky for me that my family, girlfriend and friends are here to support me!

Szkoda. Chciałem by Rajeev potwierdził, że sukces w Newport to nie fart i zawojował New Haven. Okazja ku temu była spora po wyeliminowaniu Fisha. Po wyniku sądząc nie wiele zabrakło do 1/4. Na pewno Ram jest jednym z pozytywnych zaskoczeń amerykańskiego lata. Dobry wynik w USO i pierwsza 100-tka powita.

Koliusz poległ z rakiety Mistrza USO Series 2009. Poza Querreyem w 1/2 jest też Andreev.

Querrey absolutnie zasłużył na USO Series. Od początku lipca Sam zameldował się w finałach Newport (akurat się nie wlicza do serii, ale finał eventu ATP jest), Indy, LA (triumf) i teraz New Haven - o Matko :D
W dzisiejszo-jutrzejszym finale nie jest bez szans, bo Verdasco to średnio lubi stawiać kropkę nad i, no chyba, że trzeba DF skończyć mecz :D
Od początku życzę wygranej Nando, ale przy obecnym składzie finału nie mam prywatnego faworyta.

Verdasco Captures First Hard Court Title Over Querrey
Second-seeded Fernando Verdasco earned his first ATP World Tour title of the season and the first of his career on hard courts as he defeated sixth-seeded Sam Querrey 6-4, 7-6(6) in the Pilot Pen Tennis final on Saturday.
The 25-year-old Madrid native earlier in the day won his semi-final match indoors in two tie-breaks over seventh-seeded Igor Andreev. He then returned a little more than four hours to beat Querrey in a first-time meeting. Querrey also won his semi-final indoors over Jose Acasuso.
Verdasco went through the tournament without dropping a set. He enters the US Open with a 39-16 match record on the season, including a 22-6 mark on hard courts.
Verdasco took control of the match early by taking a double-break lead at 4-1 before Querrey broke for the first time. But the Spaniard served out the 32-minute opening set at 40-love with his second ace. In the second set, Verdasco held a 4-2 lead and had two break points for a double break but Querrey fought back to hold. He then broke the Spaniard in the next game for 4-4. Querrey took momentum of the match and held two set points on Verdasco's serve at 6-5, 15-40, but the Spaniard held. Querrey then led 6-3 in the tie-break but he couldn't put Verdasco away. At 6-5, he played a ball from Verdasco that would have gone wide to level the match. Instead Querrey decided to play the ball but he netted the forehand volley. He then double-faulted to give Verdasco match point. After a long rally Verdasco hit a backhand volley winner to clinch the one hour and 36-minute match.
"I think the second set was a little bit strange because I was 4-2 up, playing good," said Verdasco, "He was a little bit down in that moment. I was almost up 5-2 and serving. But it was such a long game and he finally he won that game. He broke me in the next game. The match changed completely. He start playing much better; I start playing a little bit worse. I don't know how I turned it around again, with 6-3 down in the tie-break. I was also a little bit lucky that I served two big serves. I won the two points from 6-3 to 6-5 only with my serve, and also the double-fault he made at 6-all. I think I was just a little bit lucky today. Also not only now the final, the semifinals against Andreev, two tiebreaks. I had a good day in the tie-breaks, and that's helped me so much to win the tournament."
Verdasco, who was a wild card entry, came into New Haven with a 9-14 tie-break record on the season. But he left winning all four he played during the week, including three on Saturday. He collected his third career ATP World Tour title and became the seventh different Spaniard to win on the ATP World Tour this season, joining Rafael Nadal (5), Tommy Robredo (2), Nicolas Almagro, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Albert Montanes with one each.
Querrey, who won the Olympus US Open Series, was appearing in his fourth ATP World Tour final this summer. He compiled a 20-6 mark since July, reaching three straight ATP World Tour finals, in Newport (l. to Ram), Indianapolis (l. to Ginepri) and capturing the title in Los Angeles (d. Ball). He will enter next week’s US Open as the No. 2 American (behind No. 5 Roddick) on the ATP World Tour for the first time.
"I made the finals and played five matches," said Querrey, who is 2-4 lifetime in finals. "It's great preparation for the Open next week. Obviously I wanted to win the tournament. But I was still happy with the week and I can't complain too much about making the finals. I am still confident going into the US Open. I've had a lot of matches under my belt and I would have loved to have won tonight, but can't win them all."
The 21-year-old Californian was making his fifth ATP World Tour final showing of the season. He was runner-up in Auckland in January. He is one of five players to reach at least five ATP World Tour level finals this year, joining the Top 4 of Roger Federer (5), Andy Murray (6), Rafael Nadal (7) and Novak Djokovic (7).
