Henin to get tight against Clijsters

Justine Henin looked better than in the previous two rounds but Nadia Petrova was very disappointing for me.

The Russian looked edgy and I'm surprised she didn't offer more of a challenge to Henin.

Henin's form is still not where it could be and it's definitely not where she would have wanted it to be coming into Wimbledon.

The graph is on an upward curve but I'm still not sure that she has what it takes in crucial situations.

I would expect Kim Clijsters to win their fourth-round match. She has more control than Henin.

She has got her serve working better, which has been a problem in the past. She had a big blip at the Australian Open earlier this year and Henin has been a problem for her in the past.

But I see her as the winner of that match. Of course it's going to be close but when it does get close, I think Clijsters has the edge and Henin doesn't.

Venus Williams had a good win over tricky Russian Alisa Kleybanova. She's won this title five times before and every time she has won it, she's started slowly.

This year's there's been no iffy performance. Some people would say that a tough match early on is a good thing, I don't necessarily subscribe to that theory.

It'll be encouraging to her to have started so strongly and I no have her as my joint favourite to win the title along with her sister Serena.

++++++++++

It would have come as a welcome relief to Roger Federer that he didn't come up against an another opponent playing out of their skin.

Arnaud Clement has been a terrific player in the past but his best days have definitely gone and for Federer the match was never really in doubt.

Philipp Kohlschreiber once had a great win over Andy Roddick at the Australian Open and he played probably the best match of his career to do so.

But he needed to reproduce that today to really have a chance and he didn't.

Roddick hasn't really hit his stride yet, but he will. His tournament could easily be a classic example of peaking at the right time.

If Federer or Rafael Nadal slip up, Roddick is definitely closest to them as a player who could do something special.

Gael Monfils was disappointing against Lleyton Hewitt. But what was strange was that Hewitt struggled to close out the second set, and even looked a little shaky in closing out the match.

That is very unlike Hewitt. But maybe it was just a blip. One thing is for sure, Monfils was not 100 per cent in that match.

Novak Djokovic is not playing his very best but he is moving in the right direction and I think he'll just sneak a win against Hewitt.

It will be close. Anything less than Djokovic at his best and you know what Hewitt is like; he won't let up.
++++++++++

Andy Murray has the easiest possible third round match. Gilles Simon in an incredibly talented player but he is still feeling his way back from injury and is nowhere near his best.

It will take a monumental slip up from Murray for him not to win that one.

Ciekawy ten turniej kobiet w tym roku. :D

Przed chwilą Henin przegrała z Kim. Clijsters wciąż za mocna na Justynę w tym roku. Szkoda.

Nono faworytki w ogóle się męczą, część się posypała. Janković i Wozniacki out, problemy miała Venus z relatywnie mało znaną przeciwniczką. Cieszy mnie wygrana Clijsters a teraz panie Serena i Maria grają pełne napięcia spotkanie i cały czas mi się wydaje że tenisistki jakby mogły to zdjęłyby siatkę i załatwiły sprawę na pięści :D:D

Serena lepsza w szlagierze. Chyba wszystko idzie ku kolejnemu finałowi sióstr przy SW19. ;)

O narody, Venus i Kim przegrały, Pironkova - Zvonareva to jedna z par półfinałowych. :o

no i wykrakałem.. w takim układzie obstawiam oczywiście finał Serena - Zwonarieva ale nie wiem czy obstawianie w WTA ma jakiś sens :)
