Jest jeden znak zapytania. Organizatorzy wciąż czekają na Federera, który jeszcze nie wie, czy weźmie udział w Aami Classic 1010.
Federer yet to decide whether to play at Kooyong Tennis Classic
ROGER Federer is in no rush to decide whether to stick with his regular Australian Open buildup in 2010 by playing the Kooyong Classic.
The Swiss superstar has played at Kooyong on five previous occasions and is the defending Classic champion.
"I have been asked by Roger to keep a spot open for him in January's field,'' tournament director Colin Stubbs said on Wednesday.
"He has not yet decided on his Australian Open preparation because of the recent birth of his twin girls Myla and Charlene with wife Mirka Vavrinec.
"Naturally I said I would do so and clarity is not expected until early in the new year.''
Current top 10 stars Novak Djokovic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Fernando Verdasco are confirmed starters for the eight-man round-robin event which runs from January 13-16.
It will be world No.4 Djokovic's first appearance at Kooyong.
Also in the field are Fernando Gonzalez, Robin Soderling, Tommy Haas and Marcos Baghdatis.

Del Potro jest gotowy zastąpić Federera w KC2010.
Oct 13, 2009 from AFP:
MELBOURNE - Juan Martin del Potro is on standby to play if Roger Federer does not take up the eighth and final place in the draw for the Kooyong Classic exhibition tournament ahead of the Australian Open, organisers said.
"If Roger decides against playing at Kooyong, or another player withdraws before the tournament, Juan Martin will step into the field," tournament director Colin Stubs said.
"I am delighted that such strong back-up plans have been put in place."
Other confirmed signings for the Kooyong Classic are Novak Djokovic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Fernando Verdasco, Robin Soderling, Fernando Gonzalez, Tommy Haas and Marcos Baghdatis.

Kooyong Coup - AAMI Classic Signs Del Potro
Tournament Director, Colin Stubs, announced today that World No. 5 and US Open winner, JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO, will assume alternate status at Kooyong next January (13-16).
Stubs confirmed seven of his eight-man field last month and, on request, is holding the eighth spot for world no. 1 ROGER FEDERER. “If Roger decides against playing at Kooyong, or another player withdraws before January 13, Juan Martin will step into the field. I am delighted that such strong back-up plans have been put in place” said Stubs.
The just-turned 21 year-old from Tandil, Argentina, has had a hero’s welcome since returning from Flushing Meadows. Former Argentine Davis Cup captain, Alberto Mancini, said after del Potro’s US Open win: “Without doubt, Juan Martin can be world no. 1. He has improved beyond measure this season, but he is still only a 20 year-old and has not yet reached his full potential”.

EDIT:
Jan 4, 2009 from SMH:

Federer ciągle się zastanawia, ale jakby zrezygnował z KC to w Jego miejsce jest aż 2 kandydatów: Murray i Roddick.
Murray, Roddick now seek Kooyong tune-up spots
Murray, Roddick now seek Kooyong tune-up spots Andy Murray and Andy Roddick have put in quiet bids for spots in next week's elite Australian Open tune-up at Melbourne Kooyong club, leaving the eight-man special event with an embarrassment of choice.
Federer has long been promised a spot should he desire to continue his habit of using the guaranteed matches at the four-day tournament as his final tune-up for the Grand Slam which starts in a fortnight. His management has promised a decision within a few days.
Meanwhile, Murray and Roddick, competing on opposite sides of Australia, have both put in bids, with Murray considering asking for a practise match. Logistics could be complicated as 2008 Aussie Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga battles a wrist injury which has forced him from two events already in the New Year.
"The plan is to go to Melbourne and maybe play a match at Kooyong," said Murray at Perth's Hopman Cup. "I feel good. It's only been four weeks since London (year-end finals), so I don't feel like I've been away from the court too long."
Roddick has played Kooyong before and is headlining in Brisbane this week.
The Kooyong field already includes Novak Djokovic, Juan Del Potro, Fernando Verdasco, Robin Soderling, Tommy Haas, Fernando Gonzalez and Tsonga.

Niestety..Federer-OUT
Federer pulls out of Kooyong
World number one Roger Federer has decided not to participate in next week's Kooyong Classic.
It is only the second time the Swiss star has missed the Australian Open warm-up in the past seven years. The other time he did not play was in 2008 when he was forced to withdraw the day before the tournament due to sickness.
Federer was defeated by Nikolay Davydenko in the semi-finals at the Qatar Open during the week and will not play another competitive match before he begins his Australian Open campaign on Monday, January 18.
Kooyong Classic tournament director Colin Stubs will now spend the next 48 hours exploring the best possible option for the eighth spot in the star-studded field.
Novak Djokovic, Robin Soderling, Fernando Gonzalez and Tommy Haas have already been training in Melbourne, while Juan Martin Del Potro, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Fernando Verdasco are all expected to arrive on Sunday

Kooyong Classic targets Andy Murray as Roger Federer withdraws
Roger Federer will not warm up for the Australian Open at this week's Kooyong Classic in Melbourne, prompting organisers to target Briton Andy Murray for the vacant eighth spot in the invitational field.
World number one Federer, who thrashed compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka to win the title last year, had decided to rest before next week's Grand Slam at Melbourne Park, tournament director Colin Stubs said on Monday.
"(Federer's representative) Tony Godsick from IMG said Roger had decided to pass on the spot this year," Stubs said.
"It's possible he'll play an exhibition match."
Organisers had pledged to hold a place for the 15-times Grand Slam champion until the day before the Janruary 13-16 tournament.
Aside from missing the 2008 event with glandular fever, Federer has been a fixture at the leafy Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club over the last six years, using it as a springboard to three Australian Open titles.
Federer's management did not cite any reason for his decision to rest, but organisers had only rated him a "slightly better than 50-50 chance" to play, Stubs said.
Despite recapturing the world number one spot from Spanish rival Rafael Nadal last year, Federer's 2010 campaign has got off to a spluttering start.
The 28-year-old was beaten emphatically by Russian world number six Nikolay Davydenko in the semi-finals of the Qatar Open on Friday, a week after his first loss to Swede Robin Soderling in 13 encounters at an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi.
Stubs said organisers were chasing British world number five Andy Murray to take the last place in the field, which boasts US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina and Serbian world number three Novak Djokovic.
France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Spaniard Fernando Verdasco will also line up at Kooyong where players are guaranteed three matches on the same surface used at Melbourne Park.
