Błagam Cię Vera, wygraj to!!!!
P.S. Widzieliście tą laskę w boksie Venus?? Mówią że to Serena...

Widzę, że finał szumnie komentowany.
Wynik finału:
Clijsters d. Zvonareva 6-2 6-1

A co tu komentować. Jeśli taka zawodniczka jak Clijsters jest w formie to może ogrywać prawie wszystkich. Wynik pokazał jaka jest różnica między naprawdę najlepszymi tenisistkami a obecną czołówką touru.

To jednak turniej Clijsters. Wielkie gratulacje dla Belgijki. Tak nawiasem mówiąc, to Kim ostatni mecz w Nowym Jorku przegrała w 2003 roku z Justine Henin w finale...

US OPEN 2010 Review
Women draw
A mostly disappointing level
Overall, women tennis is shaving a bad period. No players constant enough as far as the results are concerned. No players able to show an entertaining game. That is to say that now, this game is a bit of a mess. Apart from some few matches, this US Open 2010 has been lacking interest a lot, both on show and results with a lot of one-sided battle. Unfortunately this tournament has just showed again that women tennis level was going down.
Clijsters is the boss
In this context and with Serena Williams being out of the picture, nothing is surprising with finding Kim Clijsters above all the others. She's just playing a way better tennis. Steady, aggressive, she's acting like a leader on the court. If we forget some dreadful matches like at the Australian Open against Petrova, at Indian Wells against Kleybanova or during Wimbledon against Zvonareva, Kim has done a really good season with victories in Brisbane, Miami, Cincinnati and the US Open. She's displaying an interesting game, which relies a lot on her footwork with also a good diversity in the shots selection. A very complete game, without an outstanding weapon but also without weak sides. As she's taking the ball earlier, she hurts way more than Wozniacki or Zvonareva because she can use this speed of play to move forward.
Disappointing Wozniacki
Caroline Wozniacki has been the main disappointment of this event, even if she went to the semifinal. She was seen as the main favorite with a three tournaments winning streak. She was the most in shape player and had improved a lot on serve and forehand like we thought it was done for good. But she showed nothing of that against Zvonareva : those two shots imploded in front of what was at stake. Was she caught by the pressure or, more likely, by the fatigue of a packed summer? I was really surprised to see her play in New Haven, the week before the US Open, whereas she had won Copenhague and Montréal and when it would have been the ideal timing for some rest when your goal is to win your first Grand Slam.
Zvonareva is finding her place
The good surprise is coming from vera Zvonareva, who confirmed her Wimbledon final by getting to the same stage in New York. Since some months, she seems to have taken a new dimension on the tour. She's just way more confident than before, she trusts her game so isn't freaking out anymore and she's building her points in a very clever way. She knows how to play with the pace, like to slow it down and then suddenly to play flat in order to disturb the opponent. She's very serious and focused so it's totally fair to see her at this level now cause she may be one of the most dedicated ones. We're used to see her alone in the fitness room, working for hours. She's able to take control of her life and her career.
Good game was still alive...sometimes
We've also found some good tennis level, sometimes. Sam Stosur delivered a beautiful match against Elena Dementieva. She's making the show and keeps on improving: time is playing for her. She needs a lot of it in order to gain the confidence that will bring her among the best ones. Francesca Schiavone is always a pleasure to watch with her diversity, her pace changing, her foot wronging on opponents and her game to the net. She's also so much involved physically. She's living her matches with a rare intensity and knows how to share it, with her very personal way of moaning. Not to forget Andrea Petkovic who knows how to keep the audience on her fingers by always ending to play a thriller. A first round won 7/6 in the third against Petrova, three match points saved in the second over Mattek Sands to end with 7/5 in the third a win due to some amazing forehand winner.
Improving players who should be confirming in the next months
Some players have displayed some very convincing performances. Among them, two formers top players: Ana Ivanovic, who started to shine again in Cincinnati and who has confirmed it at the US Open. Her serve is efficient again, like her forehand. She has also found some emotional comfort and now knows how to keep her calm when it's not going like she would like. Dominika Cibulkova has achieved a great US Open after having been struggling for months. The former world n°13 is still very young and could have a bright future. Her footwork is amazing and should help her climbing the ranking again, now that she's also helped by Zeljko Krajan, former coach of Dinara Safina. Two other players are promising: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrea Petkovic. The young Russian has went through a good summer and experienced her first 4th round in a Grand Slam. She's displaying a game that should be a key to success in the years to come. The German has improved a lot this season, like last one. She's a beautiful player, a real athlete and such a fighter. We should hear again from her very soon. Even if she lost in 4th round, compared to her road to the semis last year, Belgian Yanina Wickmayer has everything it takes to shine in the future.
