DAVID FERRER: Well, I don't know. The tennis is fair. Is the ranking, no? I am 7 in the world because I play well before and now, no? You know, Rafael is No. 1 of the world because he is the best. Federer is the 2 because he is the 2 best. Me, I am the 7. Next week 6.

Q. Would you care to speculate on who in the final, Djokovic or Murray?

DAVID FERRER: Well, will be a very difficult match, no? I don't know because Andy and Novak, for me they play very, very consistent all the matches. He won easier matches. And like semifinal is impossible, no, because semifinal always is a tough match.

Re: David Ferrer

Pęknięta struna: Rezerwowy heros Hiszpanów

Mały ciałem, ale wielki duchem - te słowa idealnie opisują Davida Ferrera. 29-letni mieszkaniec Walencji, w cieniu rodaków, najpierw Juana Carlosa Ferrero, następnie Tommy’ego Robredo i obecnie Rafaela Nadala, swoją grą ciągle pokazuje waleczne serce, stopniowo wspinając się w światowym rankingu.

Urodzony w Jávei zawodnik w tenisa zaczął grać w wieku ośmiu lat, tocząc spotkania z ojcem i starszym bratem, juniorskim mistrzem Hiszpanii do lat 13, a obecnie trenerem tenisa.

Szybko poprosił o możliwość powrotu do klubu.

W jednym z ostatnich turniejów udowodnił jednak, że można wyprowadzić go z równowagi.

To go on a walk with in the forest?

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. I've had dinner with him several times recently and we get along really well.

Oh… no one, because I don't like fishing.

Andres Gimeno. He's crazy about music.

To hit on girls with?

Juan Carlos Ferrero; he's a friend of mine. Or Nicolas Almagro, who is quite a character.
